MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator)

A company that sells mobile plans over another company's network infrastructure, without owning its own towers.

Nearly every international eSIM brand sold for Kenya travel is an MVNO-style reseller: they don't own towers in Kenya, they buy wholesale data access from Safaricom or Airtel and resell it as a travel eSIM. This is why coverage quality tracks the underlying network, Safaricom vs. Airtel, not the eSIM brand itself.

Also known as: virtual network operator, mvno
