Fair Usage Policy (FUP)

The data threshold after which an "unlimited" plan's speed is reduced, even though access itself continues.

A fair usage policy is the fine print behind most unlimited eSIM plans: once you cross the stated daily or total data allowance, your connection speed drops, commonly to a few Mbps, rather than being cut off completely — enough for messaging and maps, not for HD streaming.
